Nicolas Baby aka Niktus / Comédien, il interprète Shakespeare avec Patrice Chéreau au Théâtre des Amandiers (1982) et joue au cinéma chez Volker Schlöndorff. Musicien, il co-fonde FFF en 1985. Enregistre avec cette référence du funk fusionnel 4 albums, enchaîne les concerts, les tournées, gagne une Victoire de la Musique (meilleur concert de l’année 1998), collabore avec George Clinton, Bill Laswell et Spike Lee, investit l’Hôpital Ephémère au début des années 90, aux côtés de Pat Cash, organisateur des premiers rassemblements techno sur Paris.
Compositeur et arrangeur, créateur de musique, pour la mode, (Ocimar Versolato, Van Cleef & Arpels, Gilles Rosier), pour le cinéma (Brigitte Coscas / Mamirolle, Nicolas Boukhrief / Le Plaisir et ses petits tracas, Le convoyeur, Cortex, Gardiens de L'ordre, Newton Aduaka / Ezra), Thierry Sebban / Pseudonym) et pour le théâtre (Stephane Olry, Thierry de Peretti).
Il crée en 94' Transmut, plate-forme iconoclaste regroupant création sonore, visuelle et internet. Albums électro, remixs, site d’FFF, Transmut devient incontournable... mais s'éteint tout comme FFF en 2000.
En 2001, Nicolas Baby décide de refonder avec son inséparable acolyte Doctor L, Kaktus Hunters. Deux albums (Unlimited Land et Silver Cloud) et plusieurs installations naîtront de ce duo avant-gardiste.
En 2011, il s'investit dans un nouveau projet visuel et sonore, Sun System, et tourne en Inde aux côtés de brillants musiciens, le flutiste Paras Nath et Apurba Mukherjee (Eric Truffaz) aux tablas.
Ce projet donnera naissance au collectif SATOURNE, qui sillone la france depuis lors…
En 2014, FFF se remet en marche, une autre renaissance en quelque sorte.
Nicolas “Niktus” Baby. Actor, he performs in theater (Shakespeare) with Patrice Chéreau at the Théâtre des Amandiers (1982), and in movies with Volker Schlöndorff (“Swann in Love”, 1984). Musician, he co-founds FFF in 1985 and records 4 albums with this famous fusional funk band. Together they perform a series of concerts and tours, are awarded a Victoire de la Musique (“Best concert 1998”), collaborate with George Clinton, Bill Laswell and Spike Lee, and, in the early 90s, move into the “Hôpital Ephémère”, a famed artist-populated squat and gallery, along with Pat Cash, who organizes the first techno events in Paris.
Composer and arranger, he also creates music for fashion (Ocimar Versolato, Van Cleef & Arpels, Gilles Rosier), movies (Brigitte Coscas / Mamirolle, Nicolas Boukhrief / Pleasure and its Little Inconveniences, Cash Truck, Cortex, Sphinx, Newton Aduaka / Ezra), Thierry Sebban / Pseudonym) and theater (Stephane Olry, Thierry de Peretti).
In 1994, Nicolas Baby creates Transmut, an iconoclastic platform including sound, visual and internet creations. Electronic albums, remixes, FFF website, Transmut cannot be ignored… but dies out, along with FFF, in 2000.
In 2001, he decides to found Kaktus Hunters with his inseparable acolyte Doctor L. This groundbreaking pair will release two albums (Unlimited Land and Silver Cloud) and create various state-of-the-art installations.
In 2011 he engages in a new visual and sound project, Sun System, and tours in India together with brilliant musicians: the flautist Paras Nath and the tabla player Apurba Mukherjee (Eric Truffaz).
This project initiates the group of artists and musicians SATOURNE, which has been touring across France since.
In 2014, FFF gets going again, a new revival so to speak.
